Casting Suite

New Perspectives works with a wide range of actors: a mix of established and emerging talent, a good spread of older/younger and male/female roles, return visits for established New Perspectives collaborators but lots of new faces too. Quite simply, our approach is to cast the very best and most suitable actors for each show, because we know that the excellent reputation we enjoy amongst our audiences and at the venues we visit is built in large part on us consistently getting excellent actors doing their very best work on tour for us.

We always cast with a mind to the specific demands of the small-scale touring we do, and the liklihood of an actor/actress having an enjoyable time. This is because we understand that high company morale contributes to the making of better shows. For this reason we go out of our way to make sure that actors interested in working for the company have plenty of information about what a New Perspectives tour is really like - particularly if they have limited recent experience of touring.

We particularly welcome interest from BME and disabled actors and have a long track record of adjusting our working practices to accommodate the specific access needs of the artists we employ.

Generally we use Spotlight Interactive (www.spotlight.com) as our primary casting tool, posting casting breakdowns on the Spotlight system several months before the start of each project before receiving/shortlisting submissions from agents and/or individual actors. Casting interviews usually take place in London and Nottingham and usually consist of an informal chat and read of the script at a first encounter, and where appropriate moving on to reading with other potential cast-members at second or subsequent meetings.

Unfortunately we do not accept speculative CVs, but with the launch of our new website, we plan to start posting casting breakdowns here. Please check back on a regular basis for updates.
