Promoter Zone

In addition to performing in theatres & arts centres throughout the UK, New Perspectives is the largest single provider of touring theatre to the rural East Midlands, regularly visiting in excess of 100 community venues in the East Midlands each year - a mix of village halls, community centres, schools etc - where our performances are almost invariably booked through one of the Rural Touring Schemes operating in the region:

Derbyshire - www.liveandlocal.org.uk

Leicestershire & Rutland - www.artservice.org.uk

Lincolnshire - www.lincsruraltouring.co.uk

Northamptonshire - www.northantstouringarts.co.uk

Nottinghamshire - www.villageventures.org.uk

Each touring scheme is managed by a dedicated professional team and delivered in partnership with a body of volunteer community promoters who have got involved in rural touring because they're excited by the possibility of bringing top quality professional performing arts into their communities.

Promoting undoubtedly involves a fairly significant time commitment from those involved - publicising events, arranging venues, selling tickets etc -  but can be hugely rewarding - particularly when the end of a successful evening's entertainment is marked by the happy smiling faces of friends and neighbours. In many cases we return to the same communities year after year, working with established promoters to bring a diverse range of high quality professional performance to their communities.

Over the coming months we'll be offering New Perspectives promoters a range of new resources to help make the business of bringing one of our shows to your community even easier - this will include the facility for community promoters to sell tickets to their events online - watch this space for more details.

If you're interested in becoming a volunteer promoter, we recommend that in the first instance you contact the Rural Touring Scheme in your area and/or for further information visit the website of the National Rural Touring Forum
