East Midlands Tour (2 - 7 July 2013)

Everyone is on a journey. It starts with a trickle and ends with a crash. What happens in between is like the intricate path of a river: it flows, it courses, it meanders and it changes its mind. Sometimes a river forks and new journeys...

In Due Course we tell stories inspired by the East Midlands: a region characterised by its inbetween-ness- neither North nor South, moving away from its past but not sure where it is heading.Enter the lives of two people whose future together seemed certain until life threw up some unexpected events. Join the party for someone who feels the only way to find her bright future is to leave the places and people she knows behind.Witness a ruthless corporation where the leaders have decided drastic steps must be taken in the name of progress. And watch from the bank as a mother and daughter prepare for an extraordinary journey down the River Trent.

Due Course is a performance piece created by the STEP UP Creatives Ensemble- a group of twelve aspiring theatre makers from across the East Midlands- from a selection of scripts from the DREAM UP Writing Competition.

New Perspectives is an East Midlands' based touring theatre company, specialising in bringing new work to rural and community audiences. Through an annual programme of original adaptations, rare revivals and new writing, we aim to bring live theatre that is diverse, affordable and accessible into the heart of wide-ranging communities, as well as to regional, national and international venues.
Our productions are testament to the fact that rural theatre is as relevant, challenging and vital as theatre made for any other environment. Our participatory projects, career defining training and mentoring opportunities for emerging regional talent and rural touring scheme Northants Touring Arts makes tangible difference to people where they live.
