Writer : William Shakespeare (Creatives: Jayne Williams, Neale Birch and Gary Lagden)
Director : Jayne Williams
Designer : Clare Taylor

Words of all shapes and sizes appear from unexpected places: printed, projected and punctuated by a playful performance of those celebrated Shhh... moments in Shakespeare. Children will experience an intriguing exploration of the Bard's brilliance in telling stories that contain comedy, tragedy and history through some of his most famous characters and speeches.

Shhh...akespeare is an exploratory explosion of words that break down the perceived barriers to reading, understanding and enjoying Shakespeare. Children will participate in a celebration of the richness of Shakespearean language from many of his plays and sonnets, with phrases to take away and an overview of one whole play - Macbeth.

This performative workshop with one actor and one theatre practitioner is an hour long, can fit into your school hall or be experienced in your local library, and comes with a cultural learning pack for teachers. The cost is £1 per child/£30 per class, made possible thanks to generous support from The Thomas Farr Charity, The Chetwode Foundation and individual donors.

Accessible for all ages 9+. Whether in Year 5/6 Primary as a first dip of the toe into Shakespeare. Or in Year 7 Secondary already immersed in Macbeth. Shhh...akespeare will ignite intrigued minds and inspire an excitement for Britain's most famous playwright.
