I'm going to be very transparent with you here, what's going to happen very soon is that we, ie: you and me, together, we are going to recreate my dad's funeral. Now don't worry, it'll be funny. I promise. Full of pathos. And bathos. And gallows humour.
My Dad, Dave, died on 5 November 2015 of complications related to dementia. It was f*cking awful. But the eulogy I gave was brilliant. It deserves a bigger crowd. My way to see if from the molten wreckage of dementia some humanity, art and wonder can be salvaged. I f*cking hope so.Directed by Angharad Jones, in her first production as New Perspectives' Artistic Director, join Daniel Hoffmann-Gill as family and friends to experience the legendary life and times of Dave through a tour-de-force autobiographical performance, part tribute, part stand-up and occasional lip-syncing.
3 - 29 August, Assembly George Square - The Blue Room

New Perspectives is the East Midlands touring theatre company.
Founded in 1973, we champion new writing, under-represented voices and powerful stories, touring world-class theatre into the heart of communities reaching rural audiences where they live.
We believe that all people, whatever their age, circumstance or identity, have the right to access practice and inspire theatre and that all places can be sites of exciting cultural exchange.
