Tilly Branson is Associate Director at New Perspectives, where she recently directed Entertaining Angels (Lakeside Arts Centre and regional tour). In 2012 she directed Goldfish - the show made by the first ever STEP UP Creatives training ensemble. She has previously assistant directed Those Magnificent Men (Edinburgh Fringe 2011 and two national tours) and created the engagement package which accompanied The Butterfly Lion (Curve Theatre, Leicester and Derby Theatre 2012). She is an associate member of all-female theatre company The Gramophones, most recently directing End to End, which received 4 and 5 star reviews at Buxton and Edinburgh Fringe Festivals in 2012 and toured nationally in 2013. In 2012 New Perspectives and the University of Nottingham received AHRC funding for Tilly to do a Collaborative PhD researching and making new forms of work for rural touring, which is currently underway. Tilly is also a member of the Young Vic Directors Program.
New Perspectives is an East Midlands' based touring theatre company, specialising in bringing new work to rural and community audiences. Through an annual programme of original adaptations, rare revivals and new writing, we aim to bring live theatre that is diverse, affordable and accessible into the heart of wide-ranging communities, as well as to regional, national and international venues.
