Gerry Howell

Gerry Howell is an actor, writer and stand up comedian. He has written a number of plays including 'War and Honey', 'Horror Vacui' and 'The Elegance of An Empty Room'. Acting credits include the lead role in 'The Boss of It All', the critically acclaimed Edinburgh Fringe hit which ran at the Soho Theatre for 3 weeks, 'Speed the Plow', 'Oleanna', 'The Glory of Living', 'The Homecoming' and a national tour of 'Exterminating Angels: An improvisation'. His solo comedy shows include 'Gerry's Howell: Glorious Invention', 'Seriousnessmus', 'Gerry Howell's Portal of Discovery' and his latest magnum opus 'The Fantastic Reality of Frederick Goodge'. He is currently developing a sitcom based on his live stand-up shows entitled 'The Unexamined Life'.

Kate Kordel

Kate graduated from the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in 2009. Her recent credits include: 'Sanguine' (Waterloo Vaults), 'On The High Road' (Urgent Theatre), 'Hollywood Squares' (ITV/GroupM), 'The Complete History of Legal Highs' (Channel 4), 'The Boss Of It All' (Soho Theatre & Assembly Roxy), 'Romeo and Juliet', (Sotto Voce, Sloane Square) 'The Enchanted Trail', (Bad Physics/Rose Theatre Kingston), 'A Midsummer Night’s Dream', (The Orange Tree Theatre), 'The Comedy of Errors', (Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory), 'Richard II', (Shakespeare at the Tobacco Factory), 'Taming of the Shrew' (World Tour), 'Hobson’s Choice' (World Tour), 'Normal' (Brewery Theatre), Forced Entertainment’s 'The Voices' (Warwick Art Centre), Sam Wanamaker Festival (The Globe). Kate has also worked on a variety of voiceovers, audio books and radio dramas.

Mufaro Makubika

New Perspectives Associate Artist 2013/14, Nottingham based writer and performer Mufaro went on to be selected as one of ten writers for this year’s BBC Writersroom 10 scheme which includes a year-long attachment with the Nottingham Playhouse. He was a member of the Royal Court Theatre’s Super Writing Group and took part in both the Young Writers Programme and Invitation Studio Groups (Royal Court Theatre). Credits include 'Good Teacher', 'How To Breathe' (Nottingham Playhouse); 'Wallowing' (Lot Theatre, Braunschweig, Germany). His short play 'Mercy' formed part of Scripted, New Voices Respond to The Sarah Kane Season (Crucible Studio).

Jack has been Artistic Director of New Perspectives since September 2012.

Productions for the company include: Once Upon Our Times (Southbank), trade (National Tour) The Fishermen (Trafalgar Studios/ HOME Manchester) The Boss of It All (Assembly Roxy, Edinburgh & Soho Theatre); The Lovesong of Alfred J Hitchcock (Brits off Broadway, New York & UK tour); Him With His Foot In His Mouth, Watching the Living (both UK tours); HOOD (150th Anniversary Commission, Nottingham Theatre Royal) and Darkness Darkness (Nottingham Playhouse co-production), Harvest (regional tour) and Sisyphus (BE Festival, MESS Award Winner).

Productions for children and family audiences include: The Tiger's Bones and Other Stories (UK tour), The Giant Jam Sandwich (UK tour & Edinburgh) and The Wolf, The Duck and The Mouse (in a co-production with the Unicorn Theatre).
