Daniel joined New Perspectives as Artistic Director in 2003, having previously worked as Associate Director of the Nuffield Theatre, Southampton 1996 - 2003, Artistic Director of Oxfordshire Touring Theatre Company 1992 - 1996, and Education Director of the Haymarket Theatre in Leicester 1988 - 1992. For New Perspectives directing includes: Lark Rise To Candleford; Dolly; Farm Boy; Those Magnificent Men; The Falling Sky; Faith Healer; Farm Boy; Sir Gawain and the Green Knight; The Farm; In Search of Pontiflunk; The Hired Man (which transferred to New York); On Saturdays This Bed is Poland; Saturday Night and Sunday Morning; The Iron Man; The Allotment; Not Now, Bernard & Other Monster Stories; The Evidence; The Ghost Downstairs; The Butterfly Lion and The Long Way Home. Other directing includes: the first ever staging of Beowulf (Seamus Heaney); Freddie Jones as Charles Dickens; the original stage production of Quadrophenia; Roger Lloyd Pack in The Caretaker; Peter Pan at Polka Theatre; and currently Friend Or Foe for Scamp Theatre & Watford Palace.

Designer - Juliet Shillingford

Juliet trained at Ravensbourne and Croydon Colleges of Art and was awarded an Arts Council Bursary. She has worked extensively with New Perspectives Theatre Company, the Nuffield Theatre, Southampton, Curve Theatre, Leicester and most recently Mercury Theatre, Colchester. New Perspectives credits include Last Train to Nibroc, The Long Way Home,The Allotment, On Saturdays this bed is Poland, The Hired Man(also part of the 2008 Brits off Broadway festival in New York). Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, Faith Healer, Dolly, The Honey Man (co-production with Derby Live), The Butterfly Lion (co-production with Curve, Leicester) and most recently Entertaining Angels (UK tour) and The Lovesong of Alfred J Hitchcock (co-production Curve Theatre Leicester).

Nuffield credits include She Stoops to Conquer, Playboy of the Western World,The House of Bernarda Alba, Betrayal, Peeler, Alchemy in the UK and most recently God of Carnage. Curve Theatre, Leicester credits include The Pillowman (The first production in the studio space), The Lieutenant of Inishmore, The Long Road,Translations, Molly Sweeney and Absurd Person Singular.

Most recently, The Hired Man (a Mercury Theatre, Colchester production) and The Butterfly Lion (a co-production for Mercury Theatre, Colchester and Curve, Leicester).
Exhibitions include PQ07 Prague Quadrennial and Collaborators: UK Design for Performance at the V&A.

New Perspectives is an East Midlands' based touring theatre company, specialising in bringing new work to rural and community audiences. Through an annual programme of original adaptations, rare revivals and new writing, we aim to bring live theatre that is diverse, affordable and accessible into the heart of wide-ranging communities, as well as to regional, national and international venues.  
Our productions are testament to the fact that rural theatre is as relevant, challenging and vital as theatre made for any other environment. Our participatory projects, career defining training and mentoring opportunities for emerging regional talent and rural touring scheme Northants Touring Arts makes tangible difference to people where they live.
