"It broadened my view of the nature of the audience/performer identity"
- Coney masterclass participant
Each year we curate a series of inspiring masterclass sessions with major figures from the theatre and arts industry as part of our wider Artist Development programme. These targeted sessions provide opportunities for East Midlands theatre-makers to work in a detailed, practical way, accessing a range of ground - breaking artists and companies. We create an informal, inclusive setting where participants at all career stages can benefit from new skills, insights and make new contacts.
Masterclasses take place in our rehearsal studio at New Perspectives, Park Lane Business Park, Basford, Notts, NG6 0DW. We have parking spaces available, and there is plenty of free parking in the area also. If you are travelling via public transport, you can catch a number 17 bus from the City Centre to the Gorse Court stop - from there we are a five minute walk away. Alternatively, catch a tram towards Hucknall and alight at the David Lane stop. We are a fifteen minute walk away.
We are able to offer the masterclass series to emerging artists at a subsidised rate thanks to donations from generous individuals and participants.
New Perspectives is an East Midlands' based touring theatre company, specialising in bringing new work to rural and community audiences. Through an annual programme of original adaptations, rare revivals and new writing, we aim to bring live theatre that is diverse, affordable and accessible into the heart of wide-ranging communities, as well as to regional, national and international venues.
