NEW AND ORIGINAL PLACEMAKING EVENTS IN MANSFIELD AND BOSTON
It's the tree in Berry Hill Park that has the scars of being hit by lighting twice. The seat of the car that has taken him far away from where he started. The old Palais De Danse and the new Co-op. These are the haunts of Boston and Mansfield - our stories, cemented brick by brick, woven into the fabric of these two Market Towns.
As the Brexit debacle continues, we invited audiences to experience the stories of the people and places that voted in different ways.
Boston/Mansfield HAUNTS was a partnership project between New Perspectives Theatre Company and the Performing Arts Departments of the Colleges in both places; Boston College in Lincolnshire and Vision West Nottinghamshire College in Mansfield. Participation Director, Jayne Williams worked with two talented groups of students and community storytellers for four weeks to write and perform their three minutes haunts.
Not a Brexit play but an opportunity to bring the places of Boston and Mansfield to life and let these two towns speak for themselves.
Performed live at Create Theatre, Mansfield (28 March 2019) and Sam Newsom Centre, Boston (29 March).
