"These little telephone dramas may be morsels, but like any good piece of theatre - whether epic or bite-size - they give you a vivid glimpse into someone else's life" Stagedoor

"Full of relish and life ...packs a lot into five minutes" Reviews Hub

Short love dramas performed live down the telephone

145 years since its first appearance, our love affair with the telephone continues to grow.

And at a time where we all need love and connection more than ever, New Perspectives has teamed up with award-winning rural theatre-maker Sophia Hatfield to offer a series of short love-themed plays to be performed live down the telephone over Valentine's weekend to the person of your choice.

Book a time and you or your loved one will receive a five-minute play performed just for them by phone. The perfect Valentine's gift for the special person in your life, a drama lover or anyone in need of a touch of romance.

Pick up the phone and let the drama unfold...
56 performances took place over Valentine's weekend:
Saturday 13 February, performances from 2pm through to 9.45pm
Sunday 14 February, performances from 11am through to 8.45pm

"I missed the shared experience of laughing together in an auditorium, but since that is not an option right now, maybe this was the next best thing... an effective and creative piece of theatre" LondonTheatre1

"One performances that reduce if not eliminate the barrier between audience and actor" Last Minute Theatre Tickets

Target audience age: 16yrs+
Running time: 5 mins

Welcome

New Perspectives is an East Midlands' based touring theatre company, specialising in bringing new work to rural and community audiences. Through an annual programme of original adaptations, rare revivals and new writing, we aim to bring live theatre that is diverse, affordable and accessible into the heart of wide-ranging communities, as well as to regional, national and international venues.
Our productions are testament to the fact that rural theatre is as relevant, challenging and vital as theatre made for any other environment. Our participatory projects, career defining training and mentoring opportunities for emerging regional talent and rural touring scheme Northants Touring Arts makes tangible difference to people where they live.
