Behind Closed Doors: 9 East Midlands Artists Premiere 4 New Plays as Part of Emerging Perspectives Company

01 July 2014

We are delighted to present the Emerging Perspectives Company tour of Behind Closed Doors from Tuesday 1 - Saturday 5 July 2014.

This year's Emerging Perspectives (EP) Company, are a group of 12 East Midlands theatre-makers and writers in the early stages of their careers. The company have been led by Theresa Keogh, and supported by Dramaturg William Drew and New Perspectives' Artistic Director Jack McNamara, through a 10 month practical programme including workshops and master-classes - culminating in this 5 date tour.

Behind Closed Doors features 4 new short plays, written and performed by the EP Company and will tour to 5 East Midlands venues from Tuesday 1 - Saturday 5 July: Manton Village Hall, Rutland (Tue 1 July), Guildhall Theatre, Derby (Wed 2 July), Create Theatre, Mansfield (Thu 3 July),  Lakeside Arts Centre, Nottingham (Fri 4 July) and Thurgarton Village Hall, Nottinghamshire (Sat 5 July).

Meet a woman forced to steal her lover's heart. Walk into the home where dreams become reality and reality is transformed to nightmares. Join the enemies adapting to new roles. And step into the factory where building a future means demolishing relationships.

They are joined by performers: John Tissiman, who is currently studying at Northampton University, Mia Johnson from St. Ann's in Nottingham and Louise White and Caitlin Drabble, who are also from Nottingham. Assistant Director Charlotte Bond is from Leicester. Nottingham based actor Lee Rufford will join the cast out on tour.

Behind Closed Doors is directed by Theresa Keogh working with New Perspectives on a 10 month attachment as Trainee Director and designed by Emma Pegg, a participant in last year's programme.
