"Spine-chilling, powerful adaptation of M. R. James, with a virtuoso performance from Mark Jardine" The StageCast and Creative Team

"A gripping and intelligent adaptation under Director, Theresa Keogh, with a strong production team whose lighting and sound designers contributed immensely to the overall unease" Cambridge News

About the play

Widely regarded as the father of the modern ghost story, M. R. James' eerie tale is re-imagined by David Rudkin, described by the Observer as 'Britain's greatest living dramatic poet' into this new Christmas chiller. We first collaborated with the writer on The Lovesong of Alfred J Hitchcock, co-produced with Leicester Curve, which toured the UK and transferred to New York.
