Daron Carey

Poet and Writer

It was a protracted and messy affair for Daron Carey to climb out of the bottle he’d been living in for far too long. To fill the void Daron began writing poems. His extended residency in the parlour of hedonism and excess became a material blessing.

With little knowledge of playwriting, he set out to write the play Last Orders. The play benefited from the WriteTrack programme at Mansfield Palace Theatre and an audio version is currently under production as part of the wonderful New Perspectives Open Pitch programme.

He is passionate about telling dynamic and vibrant stories about human behavior and relationships. The differing opinions of right and wrong and the lengths we’ll go to justify our actions. Is it possible to live with authenticity or is this conditional? To explore the personas we present while concealing other aspects of our characters. What is acceptable in the pursuit of happiness?
