Laura Goulden is an East Midlands based creative and deaf & disabled ally, with 20 years of experience collaborating with deaf & disabled artists in making high quality theatre. Wearing any of her creative hats she has always prioritised empowering, challenging and celebrating with her deaf & disabled colleagues.  

Former Artistic Director of Handprint Theatre she co-created award winning bilingual theatre, including Moonbird (Best Children’s Production Ed Fringe 2019) and A Tale Of Two Houses.

As an actor Laura has been in a range of bilingual shows, including at: Derby Theatre, Sheffield Crucible, Tall Stories, and as an integrated interpreter (shows include); Choo Choo, Stammermouth Pleasance Edinburgh Fringe  (Fringe First Award 2023,) Punch (Nottingham Playhouse) and Royal Opera House. Laura has also worked as a creative audio describer with Hear the Picture (Theatre Clywd, Shakespeare’s Globe.)  As a creative producer she has been developing Exit Pursued by DWP (Amplify Festival, Nottingham Playhouse) and is a trustee at Prime Theatre.

I’m excited to use this opportunity to commit and prioritise developing my own creative journey investing in my ambitions for the future with time, connection, support. I look forward to building a strong cohort with creative colleagues in the region.
