actor and writer

Linh Huynh is an actor and writer from Nottingham whose work explores identity, relationships, cultural hybridity, and intergenerational memory. She is interested in the tensions between cultures and generations, and how these shape the ways we see ourselves, relate to others, and carry stories across time, including exploring overlooked voices and personal histories. Her creative practice sits between acting and writing. She began developing her own work in response to the lack of stories reflecting her experience, often feeling positioned as “Vietnamese” or “British” without space to embrace both, especially her Nottingham roots.

Her first play was selected for New Earth Theatre’s Writing Academy, where she began taking her voice more seriously. Rooted in observation and lived experience, her practice focuses on emotionally precise and psychologically honest storytelling. Alongside her creative work, she balances a career in communications and marketing, sustaining an artistic identity while working.

Aw, I’m thrilled! This gives me space to nurture my creative voice, connect with Midlands artists, and stay engaged with the arts while working full time. It also feels like a rare, homely chance to exist fully in my Nottingham roots creatively.
